Peace Prevails

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33 (NIV)

I will sing praises to my Father in heaven.
My hands will raise in worship.
In Spirit and Truth, I offer you praise, Lord Jesus.

I trust You, O Lord my God, for You are forever faithful.
I trust You, my Savior, for you have been faithful to me.

Each morning proves a new day as the sun emerges over the horizon.
Even if clouds conceal the sky, the sun exists.
A new day begins, life starts afresh.
Every single day presents a time of restoration.
Even if dismal circumstances overwhelm life, the Son lives,
To offer forgiveness and grace, peace and comfort.
Receive a new beginning.

I trust You, O Lord my God, for You are forever faithful.
I trust You, my Savior, for you have been faithful to me.

Forgive me, Lord, for my failings,
Things I’ve done and left undone.
As I move forward into this day,
Guide my path and light the way.
Assist me, Lord, when worldly ways confront me.
May I focus on You, no matter my surroundings.

Clouds of dismay and discouragement may hover and hang
Where I walk, where I work, where I live.
The gloom of disagreement from the devil himself
May attempt to attack me through family and friends,
Or through my own thoughts, words, and deeds.
Yet I trust You, Lord, to strengthen me in your might
And supply the courage I need to stand firm in Your Word.
Then will I be filled with a peace that passes all understanding.

I trust You, O Lord my God, for You are forever faithful.
I trust You, my Savior, for you have been faithful to me.

May I exhibit Your character of love and humility
As I interact with those around me.
Give me words sweet as honey for the needy
And a sting to quiet my enemies.

You have spoken through Your holy Word,
I offer obedience as I listen to You,
Because Your words ring out truth and life.

Jesus, You lived in this world and experienced troubles daily,
Like all of humanity.
But You desired relationship with Heavenly Father,
And through prayer and time alone with Him,
He daily strengthened you.

Lord, I desire a personal relationship with you,
Help me to confidently trust in your authority.
Give me an undivided heart, focused eyes, and open ears
To hear and obey your words of truth.

I trust You, O Lord my God, for You are forever faithful.
I trust You, my Savior, for you have been faithful to me.

Through your death and resurrection,
You overcame the things of this world.
You triumphed over tribulations.
You destroyed the deadly d’s of distress.
You conquered worldly temptations.

Now Lord God, give me courage as your worshipping warrior
To abide in your mighty Word,
And encourage those who are stressed with worldly woes.

Strengthen me with your compassionate comfort.
Sustain me when I express your gift to others.
Unite us with perseverance in your power, love, and wisdom,
May our praises be offered in your holy name with one accord.

As our worship increases,
No matter if we perceive clouds hide your presence,
Help us know, without doubting, you are nearby.
Allow your authentic peace to radiate in our hearts.

I trust You, O Lord my God, for You are forever faithful.
I trust You, my Savior, for you have been faithful to me.

Receive our praises as we receive your peace.
Thank you for the sweet exchange.

In you, Lord God, we overcome the troubles of this world.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.           2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)
