“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NASB)

And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2:9-14 (NASB)

“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV)

Peace on earth, goodwill toward men!

Peace be with you!
And also with you!

Lips speak peace,
yet hearts tremble with fear.

Agitation, difficulty, torment, trials,
Stress, turmoil, troubles, dread, anxiety……
Anything but peace exists on earth.

News, gossip, reality,
Eyes and ears see and hear violence, discord, disorder, hate,
When all the while, hearts yearn…..
Hearts desire calm, quiet, serenity, tranquility.
Why, oh why is life like this?
Why can’t we all get along?

Afraid and anxious, humans lose heart
Until peace reigns within.
God declares strength in quietness and trust.
Jesus reveals salvation in repentance and rest.

But we won’t and don’t.

Distrust prompts worry.
Anxiety triggers stress.
Fear produces unrest.
Peace is missing.

But peace can be found.
Seek and solicit peace from the Peacemaker.
Sit in the quiet of a day or night.
Allow intense breathing to still your body and soul.
Hear the powerful roar of silence.
Live for the moment in hushed tones.

Believe and receive, in repentance and rest, the salvation of our Savior Jesus Christ.
He is the Prince of Peace.
His salvation has come to all of mankind.

Peace came.
Peace is here.
Peace reigns forever.

Yes, the Prince of Peace reigns now and forever,
In believing and receiving hearts.
Offer repentance.
Experience rest.
Acquire salvation.
Obtain peace.

Peace came.
Peace is here.
Peace reigns forever.

Sit in silence.
Rest in serenity.
Be still and know He is God.
Encounter peace and quiet,
And give praise.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14)

For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said,

“In repentance and rest you will be saved,
In quietness and trust is your strength.”
But you were not willing, Isaiah 30:15 (NASB)

“I am not at ease, nor am I quiet,
And I am not at rest, but turmoil comes.” Job 3:26 (NASB)

Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy. Proverbs 12:20 (NIV)

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14 (NIV)

I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly. Psalm 85:8 (NIV)

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NIV)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7 (NIV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 (NIV)

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9 (NASB)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Roman 16:20 (NIV)

“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Luke 19:38 (NASB)

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

"….it is a time to celebrate with a hearty meal and to send presents to those in need, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. You must not be dejected and sad!” Nehemiah 8:10 (TLB)

Joy to the world, the Lord has come!

Humanity desires blessing, souls long for favor,
But where is happiness? What is joy?
Anticipated possibilities occur for a few,
Reality’s probability dreadfully materializes for most.
Life seems so hopeless.
The human condition needs a focal point.

Consider the simplicity of a child,
Marveling in the present.
Either momentary delight skips along
Or gracious arms wipe temporary tears away.
No worry about the past, no dread for tomorrow.

And Jesus says to think and live like a child,
Forgiving, humble, and trusting.

The eyes of innocent children fill with expectation,
Restoring mature yet jaded souls from life’s issues and worldly problems.
Smiles turn to happiness with a chance of joy.
Is it possible to be cheerful in the middle of pain?

And Jesus says to put aside worry and do not fear,
Forgiving, humble, and trusting.

Turn away from distractions and consider the Lord.
As a child looks to a parent and longs to be held,
Focus on Jesus and desire His Presence.
Rest, relax, rejoice…..

Why let sadness devour your existence?
Imagine the elation of heavenly delight.
Endure trials and tribulations with the weapon of joy.

Jesus understands.
Jesus is strength.
Jesus is joy.

Wear the Lord’s strength when marching into the battle of adversity.
Jesus, our example, suffered mental anguish and physical pain.
While celebrating the joy of salvation for His people,
His life ebbed away on a cross.

Jesus understands.
Jesus is strength.
Jesus is joy.

Look to Him with joyful joy-filled eyes.
He is before you, beside you, behind you, and around.
Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us.
If you believe on His name, He’s within you.

Rise up and position yourself before God Almighty.
Hear His voice, listen to His words, believe His promises, have faith in Him.
The Lord does what He says—always has, always will.

Stand firm in joy—He works all things out for good.
Take up the shield of faith—He is dependable and faithful, He will do it.
Link your shield with the shields of other believers,
In joyful strength, lift one another up with encouragement,
Because Jesus fulfills His promises.

Joy to the world!

And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 (NIV)

‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].

Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3 (AMP)
A joyful heart makes a cheerful face,
But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken. Proverbs 15:13 (NASB)

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (NASB)
“Blessed are those
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.” Romans 4:7-8 (NIV)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 (NIV)

Glory to God in the highest. Luke 2:14

Behold Christmas wonder from a child’s eyes.
See the normal and imagine newness—observe for the first time.
Gasp at the spectacle of simple things.
Like a child, believe in the mystery of the season.
Dream about the coming days, anticipate the invisible.
Hope for more…..

YET hope has come.
Hope in the form of a baby boy, born to a young woman, laid in a feeding trough.
Hope humbly appeared on earth, descending from heaven.
Hope grew in wisdom and knowledge, teaching people who lived in reality about truth and love.
Hope visualized healed humans and cured the sick.
Hope envisioned broken chains and liberated captives.
Hope conceived a divine kingdom and lived it out on earth.
Hope is Jesus…Jesus is God…God is Creator.

The Creator left His throne in heaven to live for a moment on earth with His creatures.
Who does that?
Who designs something only to become the design?
Who fashions a pot of clay only to become the pot?
Who relinquishes power only to bestow that power within the powerless?

God. The answer is God.
God, the Supreme and Omnipotent Being who created everything from plants to stars,
Waived His Almighty rights for a short time to inhabit His most glorious work of art.
God in the person of Jesus lived like people, but loved like God—human yet divine.
He lived out preordained prophecies of the ancients.
He became the living Word of patriarchal writers.
He came to earth as a Savior and sacrificed His holiness,
Covered Himself in the sins of His own creation,
Poured out His righteousness upon the earth.

He sent Holy Spirit power
Exploding within His creatures the Word to be shared.
Good news of hope—written, existed,
Now living within hearts of humans choosing to believe in the divine.

Hope reigns supreme in the minds of the faithful.
Hope looks to a future with Almighty God while living in the present with mankind.
Hope lives as its Creator, spreading His Word of truth in love.
Glory to God in the highest.

I owe Him awe,
Respect He’s due,
Jesus Christ is holy,
Our Lord and Savior is true.

Praise Him, saints and sinners,
Glorify His Name.
Shine forth His light,
Lay down your shame.

He carried sins then,
He’ll carry them now.
The exchange at the cross
Is worthy a bow.

Praise Him, children,
Praise Father above.
He offers grace and mercy,
He extends heavenly love.

Open your heart,
Receive His generous gift.
Humble yourself before God,
And allow Him to uplift.

Glory to God in the highest.

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
