Carrying His Message Forward

Hey MPs, the devotional for today consists of a psalm and a song. To God be the glory for His works in our lives. As we progress into this modern age with our message of faith in God’s promises, we remain hopeful for the plan and future that He has for our children and grandchildren. He is faithful from age to age.

As we give Him thanks for His working in our lives, we must also submit to God and resist the devil. Below is what God’s Word says in James 4:7-8a:

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (NKJV)

I want to share the footnote for verse 7 from my Bible. It speaks loudly to us MPs.

We must follow in order the two commandments in this verse. First we must submit to God by abandoning our selfish pride. Submitting to the Lord also involves putting on the whole armor of God, an image that includes everything from placing our faith in Him to immersing ourselves in the truth of God’s
Word. Second, we must resist any temptation that the devil throws our way. Then the Evil One will have no choice but to flee, for we will belong to the army of the living God.

So let’s begin praising God, immersing ourselves in His truths and promises. Read Psalm 104 and give praise to the Sovereign Lord for His creation and providence. Then read Psalm 105 and give thanks for the eternal faithfulness of our God. Now praise Him with an ancient but steadfast hymn entitled “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” by Joachim Neander.

1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is your health and salvation!
Let all who hear now to His temple draw near,
Joining in glad adoration!

2. Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things is wondrously reigning
And, as on wings of an eagle, uplifting, sustaining.
Have you not seen all that is needful has been
Sent by His gracious ordaining?

3. Praise to the Lord, who will prosper your work and defend you;
Surely His goodness and mercy shall daily attend you.
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend you.

4. Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before Him!
Let the amen sound from His people again.
Gladly forever adore Him!

AMEN and thank you Jesus! Please read all the pages of our blog becoming familiar with the verse that God speaks to call back our children to Him, our logo and all its meanings, the history of MPs, and our mission statement. Feel free to comment in a post. Stand firm, MPs! Wail, watch, and wait for He is right beside you managing all the details of your lives.
